She turned four on the 17th. I am still having a difficult time believing this.

Christmas movies for this year:

Midnight in Paris: ((this CAST. Also time-travel is always a million bonus points in my book))

Santa's Slay: Our annual Christmas Eve one. Because we're sick twisted people.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil: Because it was absolutely amazing and any chance to watch it again is a good one.

This is me over on DreamWidth. Will still be crossposting here and reading my friends list, but I highly doubt I'm going to continue with a paid account. I don't use RP journals so the latest changes don't really bug me that much, but the way the LJ staff responded to customer complaints does.

8:00-11:00: Clean mom's house
11:00-5:30: Make six dozen Oreo truffles, four dozen peanut butter truffles, and two dozen chocolate truffles for Christmas orders
The rest of the night: Sit on my butt and do absolutely nothing

It occurred to me on the drive home that right now the kids don't care if I do things like turn the radio way up and sing along to Heart's "All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You". But someday . . . someday they will be in middle school.

And then my revenge for the current 4+ years without a full night's sleep will begin.

Aw, damn.

RIP, Harry Morgan. You'll be remembered fondly.

This issue is devoted to fandom!!

The second installment for "Of Airships and Metal Men" is in it, along with three stories by yours truly! (Medusa story from my steampunk Greek mythology book; James Bond ficlet; and a segment from Faerietale by me and Angie and Colleen!)

Enjoy! :D

Since I haven't done one in a while and this one looked potentially amusing:

RELATE ME! When you think of me, what is the first thing that pops into your mind related to me in the following 10 categories:

Accomplished today--

1) Peppermint cheesecake

2) Peanut butter tartlets

3) Two pans of fudge

Not accomplished--

1) Peanut butter truffles ((I think I need a silicone mold or something. The plastic ones did not work too well; truffles kept breaking as I tried to pop them out))

To accomplish tomorrow--

1) Oreo truffles

2) Chocolate truffles

3) Possibly some whoopie pies

I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS

Weird Al

New DVD out of his latest concert (Alpocalypse) is out and we just rented it-- Devin's over, of course, since I got him into Weird Al almost before he could walk. The best thing is that Devin *looks* a heck of a lot like Weird Al; all he needs is the curly-hair perm, really. And an accordion. ;-)

He did find a small flashlight and start waving it like a lighter when "Spiderman" started playing, and now Ian's trying to imitate him.

I have most of Weird Al's stuff, but not the entire discography. Must change that soon.

Make me an incredibly happy person for only $1.99! ;-)

Stealing Time

The file is also submitted to Kindle, and should be up there within a day or two, so I'll post the link as soon as their review process is finished.

Also, just for a laugh, here's the Lulu link-- apparently if you go over 500 pages with a book, it trips the "must make it cost more" switch and so the mandatory price was $25. I am fairly sure the new Stephen King does not cost that much.

First chapter of our new book, available this weekend:

From the always-fantastic Mandy Roberts, here's the cover for Stealing Time-- if all goes according to plan, the book itself will be available next weekend!! I'll be posting the first chapter sometime this week. :-)

Practicing some recipes for Thanksgiving, so we're making a loaf of panettone for a bread pudding, and experimenting with pumpkin pie from scratch. I love baking days. :-)
