We're planning to lift weights every Tuesday and Thursday (assuming we stick with this. lol) so I figured I'd keep track of what I've lifted.
Bench press:
50 lbs.-- 3 sets of 10
70 lbs.-- 2 sets of 5
Military lift:
30 lbs.-- 2 sets of 10
It's been about two years since I've set foot in a gym, obviously. :-P We made a half-joking pledge to be able to bench press our own weight by Halloween. I tried to bench 100 pounds just to see if I could, and that quickly turned into an example of why you always have someone there to spot you. And today my arms are still going through random 'OMG I hate you' fits, so it's a good thing we're walking tonight.

jake has been bugging ron about becoming his personal trainer.
Ron used to bodybuild. He even competed in the Mr. Vermont State body building championship.
He was a living example of how lifting weights can increase your body mass-- he gained about 45 lbs of pure muscle, no steroids involved.
It was pretty cool.
