You don't even want to know what kinds of swear words were being said here. And at one point both Chris and I were flipping off the T.V. I didn't cry; I was too pissed.

Shepherd was bad enough. But Wash??? Oh hell no.

I love the movie Alien, and the first sequel was good. But then we got to Alien 3, which began with Newt and the Captain being killed off. I have never watched Alien 3 again.

My point being, I have a good feeling that Serenity will be a new Alien 3. Which is too bad, because River was freakin' awesome. And I loved Simon and Kaylee, and Mal, and generally everybody (except Jayne, who is at 'like up to a point'). But some things are just not done, and that was one of them. I don't care about 'realism', or any other excuses.

Goodbye, Serenity. I'll stick with Firefly.

Yeah, and more than likely, just like all the rest of us, you'll get past the grief and end up watching the movie again to pick up all the stuff you missed the first time through.

Or at least to marvel at Summer Glau's amazing ability to pull off that awesome ceiling shot (which is an actual stunt and not a piece of FX) or that kick around the pole (yet another actual stunt, not FX, that girl is amazing).

But in the meantime, go back for the commentaries on the shows. Those are like watching all new shows :D

I took me five times to watch the movie before I stopped crying.

Actually, the first time? I just cried when he died.

The second time? I started crying every time he came on fucking screen.

I even rented "A Knight's Tale," forgetting Alan Tudyk is in, wanting a fluffy comedy thing where nobody dies. And I cried.

I'm kind of a crier, though.

Anyway. It's a very quality film, and Wash's death was incredibly effective on a number of different levels. I still <3 it. Even though it made me cry.

I know!! I was too shocked and mad when I watched the movie to cry then, but now I'm looking at the freakin' box and practically whimpering. Grar.

I just . . . I dunno, I'm weird. I'll read incredibly graphic horror novels and be fine with that, but with movies I tend to want cheery. Or if there's character death, for it to at least make sense or have some foreshadowing.

As soon as they landed on Haven and saw the destruction I knew Shepherd was probably dead or close to it. Since I wasn't cussing at the screen then, I was waiting for something else, for the Operative to catch up with them and for there to be a fight where someone died. But then just WHAM, and I couldn't even say anything for a good five minutes because I was gaping at the screen. Then I said a whoooole lot. ;-)

It was a well-done movie, and the scene was incredibly effective. I can even say from a writer's viewpoint, "Damn, good one. In a freaky, sad, your-fans-will-stalk-you-forever kind of way." But it's precisely because it was so effective that I won't be watching it again anytime soon. It'd be bad enough if I'd only seen the movie and not the series, but watching the whole series within a week and spending hours with these characters instead of just the customary hour and a half of a film. . .

I just guess if I want awful things happening randomly I'll read a newspaper, y'know? I'll take my happy endings where I can get them.
