Okay, now that I have more than five minutes at the computer... :-)

Wedding and honeymoon stuff behind the cut, since this got a little long.

Wedding went beautifully-- there was the usual business of running around like headless chickens and forgetting things back at the house and trying to get everyone to stay in the same room for the photographer and failing. It was apparently the first time anyone had ever been married at the college theater, so that was cool. And there were some funny things, like me forgetting my pantyhose and calling Chris to ask him to bring a pair from the house, and him grabbing one of the packages, which happened to be black pantyhose. Interesting garter pictures there. Heh.

And pictures will, by the way, be posted on my website soon. Kath (my matron of honor. *waves*) already has some photos from her digital camera up, and I'm going to gather some of those along with some from the seven rolls of film we're having developed, and the photographer's photos, and put them up on a new section of my webpage asap. I'll post the link once it's done.

The music was great. People weren't much into dancing at the reception, so only about half the music got played, but that's okay because I have some really cool mixed CDs now. And at the wedding itself, there was a tape of Celtic music for the pre-wedding stuff, and then I chose some Moulin Rouge music for the ceremony. "Come What May" was played for the bride/bridesmaids' entrance, and "Elephant Love Medley" was played when everyone started leaving the stage. So now I get to tell everybody that Ewan McGregor sang at my wedding. ;-)

As for the honeymoon: we went to Eureka Springs, AR, and stayed at the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. Which, if you're ever in the area, you should go to. Really great people, the cats are something else, and oh man is it ever surreal to be standing next to a lion when he starts roaring.

Personally, I'd advise going sometime other than the summer, though, because they have incredibly enormous kamikaze junebugs and uggggggh. I have a paranoia about insects flying at me, though, so...yeah. Poor Chris got stung by a bee (which he promptly condemned to Death By Hat). So, not so much on the buzzing wildlife. Fall or winter visit, that's what we're going to do next time.

And speaking of wildlife there, the most unexpected encounter happened when we were sitting around with the staff outside late one night talking. I was sitting on a stone ledge next to another girl, and then I hear one of the guys say, "Get up. Snake." So we both vault away from where we're sitting, and I look back to see a copperhead not ten feet away. Then the view's kindof obscured by the guy picking up a huge rock and smashing it down onto the snake. Multiple times. So that was interesting...

I loved being so close to the lions and tigers, though. Again, you should definitely go if you get the chance.

Chris and I also got some of those 'dress in old-style clothes and get your picture taken' photos, and I'll see about getting those online, too.

And we went horseback riding! The last time I'd been, I was about ten, and it was more 'friend's father leading the horse around' than riding. But I still managed to get thrown when a horsefly landed on the horse's nose. So I was more than a little skittish about going, but it was still something that I wanted to do, and it was definitely worth it. We went riding through the woods, and we saw a doe with her fawn in a little clearing not far away, so that was really neat.

We were planning on going to Springfield, MO, too, but we kindof ran out of money so we came home early. lol No worries, though. And I celebrated homecoming by immediately going out to rent Bride and Prejudice, and being reminded of the general suckage of Kansas when I found out that no rental store in town had it (phone conversation: "Oh, yes, we have Pride and Prejudice." "No, Bride. With a B." "What?" Me, thinking-- *This is not a good sign.*). So I ordered it from Amazon. Yay, Amazon.

And I think that's it. Until the pictures come back, anyway. :-)
