Jun. 7th, 2005 02:10 pmWell, I'm smart.
I bought some necklace-makings so that I could sell a few pieces of jewelry at the arts and crafts fair in a couple of weeks. So I settle in to start beading-- and realize that the oh-so-convenient black cord necklace kit that I bought comes with a cord that is too thick for my beads to fit on.
Gah. Well, at least I only opened one package of the stuff, so I can return the other two... and hopefully find something else that won't consist of 'knotting string'.
And somehow my computer clock got messed up a couple of days ago, so now everything's getting backdated. Have to go in and fix that.

Jun. 7th, 2005 02:44 pmAnd here's what this afternoon has been like...
Impulse: Wanna start the new novel. Now.
Sanity: "Not a good idea. We're getting married in less than a month. That's going to leave a pretty big break not long from now with no real writing opportunites. Wait to start a new project until after the honeymoon."
But the characters-- they're chattering.
"They'll get used to it. All the others have."
Used to it?? If that's what you call tormenting us on a regular basis.
"Hush."
New Microsoft Word document. Calling our name...
"Go away."
What else are we going to do? We don't have the van, so there's no way of carting more stuff over to Chris's. Got most everything packed that isn't breakable, out of boxes so we can't even pack the breakable things yet.
"Geez, you're annoying."
But...?
"But, all right. One of these days, though, I am going to win an argument with you."
Keep dreaming.

Jun. 7th, 2005 04:49 pmTook a break from working on Chapter One to put up a new header. :-) This one is by rosemary321, and she has this to say about the text:
"A few months ago, I read in Time magazine about how researchers define two types of smiles. One is called the "Pan American smile," because it is associated with flight attendants of the former airline. Pan American smiles are forced, voluntary, and polite. The other type of smile is the Duchenne smile (named after researcher Guillaume Duchenne), and it is an involuntary response to genuine emotion. Unlike with a Pan American smile, the eyes crinkle up with a Duchenne smile. While I was looking through caps of Ariel grinning like an idiot, this caption came to mind. I stuck with it because I think it has a nice sound and conveys her happy attitude throughout the film."
