One of our cats-- the younger one, Isabel-- hadn't been getting along with our other cat for a while now, and a few weeks ago she started pooping outside the litter box, on the spare bed. We got rid of that mattress, hoping it'd solve the problem. Nope. I woke up one morning to see her raising her tail right next to me-- yay for waking up in time-- and after that we shut her in the back room with her own litter box and food and water. Thought maybe if she was isolated from the other cat she'd quit it.

Still no. And we'd go back there and spend time with her, but whenever we weren't there she'd meow at the door, obviously unhappy and no wonder.

This morning Chris and I took her to the vet so they could find a better home for her. She'll probably do better out in the country, or in a place where she's the only cat and has full roam of the house.

I still feel like a bad mom. :-P
