So I see an article in the paper at work today about how Kansas is going to try to ban gay people from adopting. That of course makes me snarly. Then I come home, and Debi shows me a post that touches on the same topic, and says several things that I've been thinking lately, only with about ten percent more scientific theory and ten percent less cussing. ;-)

Not to say that I won't make a post on the topic myself later, once I've moved to a mental state that's more coherent than 'grrrrr', but for now--

Check this out.

Figure out a way to get a manuscript onto LOST.

From lost-media.com:

"It was a shot that lasted just a second, but the appearance of Irish novel "The Third Policeman" on cult television series "Lost" has thrust one of Ireland's less celebrated authors into the limelight.
The surreal comic novel by Flann O'Brien, an early 20th century author heavily influenced by fellow countryman James Joyce, appeared briefly in an episode of "Lost" screened in Ireland on Monday.

It was first aired in the United States in October. After that outing, 10,000 copies of the book -- unpublished during the author's lifetime -- flew off bookshop shelves in just two days."

Go Maine. :-)

Girl, Interrupted Returns to Classroom

I was in high school when I read that book-- and that reminds me, I need to read it again, because I remember really liking it but I'm shady on a lot of the details. Off to the amazon.com cart. . .
