New 30 Days
Jan. 4th, 2011 06:01 pmI loved doing the 30 Days of Writing meme, and then I got caught up in the whole holiday-New-Year's-resolutions thing and I thought about how there's usually a lot of ads about charities and bell-ringers out in December and then it fades off completely in January. So I thought I'd do a 30 Days of Charity for January, just a little thing spotlighting a different charity every day. ((or, if it goes anything like 30 Days of Writing did, sometimes once every couple of days, or once a week)) :-) And somewhere in there I hope to do a post about my own resolutions, changes I've made, and what I hope to accomplish this year.
First of the 30 Days is First Book. From their website--
"First Book provides new books to children in need, addressing one of the most important factors affecting literacy – access to books.
First Book works through existing community programs and literacy efforts to provide a steady stream of new, free, or low cost books to elevate educational programming and improve access to reading materials."
