His spouse was also killed in the Werewolf Riots. Unlike Aiden, who was protesting against legislation that would allow Supernatural Detectors into public schools, his husband was there protesting for it. Patrick leaned toward David's side of the argument, but wasn't really involved until after the Riots. He hangs around Abby's a lot because he thinks sooner or later he'll get Elspeth to listen to him, to agree that things would be a lot less painful all around if Supernaturals and Normals stayed away from each other.
