Hera, from the Greek Pantheon series
Hera is the Goddess of marriage and childbirth, but her own marriage is miserable, and she spends quite a bit of time going after her husband's children. The last time she went after the true source of her problems, Zeus hung her in the sky. A part of her is certain that if it weren't for her son Hephaestus's interference, she'd still be there.
After the first War, things are fairly calm for a while . . . Zeus apologizes and promises to change; she believes him. Then Eris 'accidentally' lets slip that he's been sneaking down to the mortal realm in disguise, up to his old games.
Hera knows that she has to confront Zeus again, but this time she's going to enlist help. Still, some old habits die hard, and Aphrodite's going to have her work cut out for her keeping Zeus's latest child and her mother safe.
