Isn't it just? I've read parts of it and the companion book about children's safety to Chris so now he knows what stuff I'm referring to, too. :-)
And yeah, some of the more extreme fannishness reminds me of the Titanic craze. I'm just glad we're not in high school for it this time around.
Also, I would have to say that the "I love vampires!" thing, when it's inspired solely by Twilight, is not entirely true. Vampires generally drink human blood and can't stand sunlight for reasons other than it exposes their affection for Claire's body glitter. ((You know, the trade-offs that keep the whole "immortal and ever-young" thing from sounding like too good an idea.)) Not that I think these rules can't be broken, but I do ask that writers familiarize themselves with the conventions of the genre first, and then break said rules for a reason.
