Children's Center
From their website:
"Children’s Center is a not-for-profit agency which serves southwest Missouri children who are severely physically abused or sexually abused.
The mission of Children’s Center is to reduce the trauma of children who have been abused by facilitating a multi-disciplinary response.
Past experience has taught us that no single agency can possibly meet all the needs of physically and sexually abuse children and their families. Experience has also taught us that taking child victims from agency to agency for multiple interviews can traumatize and revictimize them.
As a child advocacy center, we provide a child-friendly, safe setting in which law enforcement and Children's Division personnel can conduct investigations of alleged child abuse. These teams include specially trained law enforcement and Division of Family Services personnel, prosecutors, juvenile officers, medical professionals, mental health professionals, and Children’s Center staff. These professionals meet child victims and their families at Children’s Center and, by coming together as a team, reduce the number of interviews child victims must go through.
Children’s Center staff also offer advocacy, referrals and prevention education."
