changeyourstars8How did a movie with THAT cast make me want to never ever EVER watch it again??
From the ads and everything, I was expecting a haunted house story. I WANTED a haunted house story. What I most certainly did not want was a cheery little story of child murder and an MRA-style villain who's all pissy because his wife got custody and so he wants to get rid of her and hires an utterly incompetent hit man who goes to the house across the street instead. So a woman gets her kids shot to death in front of her and then she's killed, and the husband has a complete mental breakdown and loses five years of his life, and then slowly remembers everything. And yeah, the asshole dies and so does the hit man, but that still leaves the wife shot to death along with her five and seven year old kids. HI ALMOST EVERY KIND OF DEPRESSIVE TRIGGER SITUATION EVER.
At least Girl With the Dragon Tattoo didn't sell itself as something it's not and I knew to avoid the hell out of it.
Off to go watch something cheerful now.
