"In the Vatican, he has been the driving force behind crackdowns on liberation theology, religious pluralism, challenges to traditional moral teachings on issues such as homosexuality, and dissent on such issues as women's ordination."

Date: 2005-04-19 10:35 pm (UTC)He's definitely far too conservative for my liking. But maybe he'll show a different side once he starts his Pontificate. Doubtful....but here's hoping.
I saw a quote referring to him as "God's Rottweiller" today...Now that is scary. haha.
