That is not a good way to wake up.

I come in here to check my mail like I do every morning, and I hear a weird noise. Look around, nothing. Figure I must be imagining it, turn back to the computer--

And a minute later I look up and see a bumblebee hovering around my light.

I didn't know I could move that fast, especially before 6 a.m.

So I tear downstairs and send Chris up here to kill it, and a few moments later he opens the door and tells me there's nothing in here. Now neither of us can find it. Probably because the stupid thing is lying in wait for me.

Eek! I hate it when I know there's a bug somewhere but I can't find it. I bet that got the blood pumping and you're really awake now. I hope it turns up in a not-scary way.

Just got home, turned on the office light, and caught it crawling around. It = dead. Yay. :-)

The insect/spider world is really ragging on you lately. BAD BUGS!

I know! The one flaw with living on the edge of town. I didn't even know monster killer death crickets existed until one turned up in the bathroom. . .

You fear bumblebees?

Bumblebees, bees, and wasps. If it has a stinger and could conceivably fly at my head, I'm terrified of it. lol

Well, bees are pretty chill. They don't like to sting unless threatened.

But wasps...oh, those little vicious suckers sting because they like to. You can see it in their cold, black eyes, how they would love to sting again and again.

Exactly. I've never gotten stung by a bee (and with proper avoidance/fleeing skills, hopefully that won't change. ;-)), but wasps have gotten me twice. Haaate.

Oh, I am SO right there with you. When I lived in the dorms, my roommate (who was a goddess and I still love her and talk to her like everyday, except...) liked to open the windows, and every once in a while (like once a month or so), a wasp would fly into our room. And I would freak out (I'm allergic, and even if I wasn't, those things are freaking terrifying) and make her get the Evil Flying Thing out. And oh wow, the one time she wasn't around to do it, it was like the biggest wasp I'd ever seen, and I had to go retrieve my hallmate to do it. My hallmate, who weighs 98 pounds and can be killed by a piece of bread (he's violently allergic to wheat). I'm SO ridiculous. So don't feel bad.

Oh, yikes. Being allergic would make the whole hatred thing about 900 times worse. I would've gotten the hallmate, too. lol
