Went to the rental store with Chris and Devin for one of our monthly 'yay crappy horror movies' fests (today's selections-- some incredibly cheesy looking thing called The Slaughter, and Hatchet) and we rented Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door for Devin-- I'm not exactly up for something that grim right now, and neither is Chris, but my brother is carrying on my teenage tradition well. ;-)

Anyway, walked into the store and saw on their new releases list that they have both He Was a Quiet Man and Love Lies Bleeding.

So of course I make a beeline, only to find that the universe is pulling one of those conspiring-against-me things again and both movies are out.

Chris: "I know what you're thinking."
Me: *I certainly hope not*
Chris: "You cannot camp out in front of the movie drop box."
Me: "Just for a little while?"

I think that's one of the many things I love about being a fan-- mental time travel. I'm a 26-year old married mother now, and I can be having a blah day, but then I find out that I have a couple of new movies of his to watch very soon and I'm immediately right back to being fifteen and practically skipping down the street as I'm walking home with dad from seeing Broken Arrow, chattering on about 'that was such a fun movie and we have to rent that as soon as it's out so Jenny can see it too if she hasn't already and heeeey I wonder who that guy was', as my poor father was surely thinking 'oh god she's discovered hormones help'.

See? Massive run-on sentences. Proof right there. ;-)

Anyway, I'm going to go eat junk food and laugh at bad horror movies and zone out. My kind of evening.

Just when you think you've grown up...something happens that makes you think... Nah...

Like Power Rangers and Warheads Sour Candies.

LOL
Seriously. And what fun is growing up completely, anyway? I know some part of me is always going to be the chirpy geek I was in high school, but that's just fine because I kinda like her now. :-)

"I don wanna grow up, I'm a ToysR'Us kid..."

Okay, couldn't resist.

Being an adult is overrated. lol. Besides, as an adult, tricking one of my co-workers with a Lemon Warhead wouldn't be fun. As a teenager, it's frickin hilarious! I don't think I ever seen someone's face pucker that much in my life. *evil laughter*

Heck, remember when I got Devin with the chocolate-covered chili pepper by telling him it was just candy?

Of course, now he'd eat it with no problem, hot food addict that he is, but then . . . lol

It was an important lesson for him to learn, though: Never, ever trust me. ;-)

LOL!! I remember that. Didn't his face turn a lovely shade of red?

Of course, there was that winter when we did a 360 in my car and nearly hit some guy's tree while he was on the porch. I think Devin's reaction was "Cool! Let's do it again!"

Geez...look at us. We're in out mid-twenties and we're already reminiscing about our "wild youth." lol

Kinda hard to believe that we actually survived into adulthood...and that the planet has survived us going to adulthood.

Hey, what ever happened to our plans for world domination anyway?

Sounds like a good time! My family and I love catching a bad horror flick on the sci-fi channel to laugh at it. We are like our own version of "Mystery Science Theater". ;)

Oh, the Sci-Fi Channel is forever on my good side for those movies. Love 'em. :-)

Haha, I LOVE cheesy horror movies! Seriously, they're the best thing in the universe. Anyway, if you're even a little bit liberal, you might really appreciate a movie called "The Tripper." It's directed by David Arquette, and the psycho-killer in this one wears a Ronald Reagan mask and kills hippies. I think David Arquette might be a little bit liberal, what about you? Just a theory I've got...anyway, it's cheesy gory fun, and I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't worship Reagan.
