Okay, technically I know she's not a kid anymore, but this is just horrifying:

I am replacing the AP's headline with a more accurate one. Because the guy hooked her on drugs when she was a child and then raped her repeatedly. There is a better headline for that than one including the words "had sex with her dad". For the millionth time, sex and rape are not interchangeable terms. Goddamn stupid media.

Date: 2009-09-23 09:53 pm (UTC)The abuse Mackenzie suffered from her Father reminds me much of the book "The Kiss" by Kathryn Harrison. It's the author's story of the "relationship" she had with her Father and gives a great insight into how such relationships, though deemed to be consensual are actually anything but. It shows the abuse of power of the Father over the child, even when the child is no longer a child.
