I've decided to do a book tie-in of sorts using Adagio Teas. They let you create your own blends, and I think it'd be a lot of fun to create a special blend for each of the Gods and Goddesses in my Greek steampunk novel Atmidos.
Only problem is I still consider myself a bit of an amateur when it comes to tea, and I can't really afford to go on a tea-buying binge to try a ton of flavor combinations.
So a question to my readers-- anybody into tea who'd be willing to take a look at my list of possibilities and give me "hey, that sounds good!" and/or "nope, that would taste like death warmed over" feedback??
I'd be much obliged, and would definitely send a $5 Adagio certificate to your email!

The characters I'm thinking of making teas for---
1) Zeus and Hera, naturally (blood orange involved somehow? Something strong-flavored, and I was thinking that maybe they could have at least one flavor element in common)
2) Iris, the Goddess of the Rainbow. Something bright and fruity and pretty.
3) Ares. I originally was unsure about whether or not to include him and then I saw that Adagio has a green tea called "gunpowder". HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO RESIST THAT.
4) Hephaestus. Basically he and Hades are the only Gods I did not want to constantly thwap on the back of the head when reading mythology stories as a kid. He's stable and nice and not a huge drama magnet. Dark chocolate? Caramel?
5) Dionysus. Not sure if any teas can taste kinda like wine? I did see an herbal pina colada tea. :)
6) Persephone. I cannot keep myself from putting out some kind of pomegranate tea there.
7) Aphrodite. The possibilities for hers were actually what started this idea-- they have a whole bunch of yummy-looking strawberry/peach/vanilla/almond type things.
