On Cindy Sheehan--
Protestors are apparently crowded around in Crawford now, and while Sheehan has said that she doesn't want to argue with the Bush supporters, because they're well within their rights to be there, apparently some don't have the same attitude. A quote from the article--
"Thomas Zapp, the father of another soldier killed in Iraq in November 2004, came to rally for Bush and "talk to Cindy."
"She expresses her opinion and I want to express mine to her. She has no right to call Bush a murderer and to compare him to Saddam Hussein," he said."
First off, if she's ever compared him to Saddam, I haven't seen the quote. But even if she has-- yes, she does have the 'right' to say that. It's called freedom of speech. I can compare Bush to Saddam, Hitler, Pol Pot, or freaking Mickey Mouse if I want to; I can verbally worship him or cuss him out daily. I have a perfect right to say any of those things.
Rar.
Pardon the mini-rant, but the variations of 'heeeeey! I don't like that! Therefore, you don't have the right to say it!' never fail to bug me. There are many, *many* things that people have said that I've hated, and while I've ranted about their opinions, I don't believe that they should be silenced.
Let them all come out in the open. The more honest people are in their speech, the easier it is to decide whether you want to spend time with them or not.
