Happy Mother's Day!

What I did-- headed off to Joplin with mom to help her find a dress to wear in the wedding. Went to four stores, and then as we were heading back home I suggested a store in town that might have something. And she found something there. ;-) I also found a pair of pink leopard print pants. Just because. It was a good day.

And I saw Phantom of the Opera on Friday... thought it was fun, had a great time reading cleolinda's Movie in Fifteen Minutes of it, but I do have one question-- what is with the whole view of the Phantom as a romantic figure? The guy is obsessed with Christine, to the point of not wanting her to even speak with other men, he kills people for basically no reason, etc. and etc. I spent half the movie thinking, 'Run away from the scary stalker man, Christine'. So... ????

But...the scary stalker man is Gerard Butler. Does that not make a difference? ;)

I loved the Phantom when I was 13, but yes, as I get older I feel more and more like Christine made the right choice in leaving with Raoul! Actually she should have jilted both of them and found a non-stalkerish but also not made of cardboard guy, but that wasn't presented as an option...

lol Gerard Butler *was* very nice to watch, yes. But every time I wanted to actually like him, he'd pull something extraordinarily creepy.

And as for Raoul... I wanted to see more character development with him, darnit. But I did love the 'All I Ask of You' number. Because I'm a sap that way. :-D

Woo-hoo, someone else got the reference! Of course, I was certain you would, since you've watched the movie as many times as I have. Hee.

Poor Chris. I told him about my mission to find a pair of pink leopard-print pants, and why, and he said, "Let me get this straight. You liked them on a character in a movie...and the character was a call girl." "Yep." "So, basically, you want to dress like a call girl." "Yep."

;-)
