Well, the concert hall was hot, there was a lady nearby who wouldn't stop complaining, it was unbelievably loud. . .

Had a great time. :-D

They didn't perform "What Kind of Man Would I Be" or "Hard Habit to Break", which are two of my favorite songs of theirs, but they did perform "Look Away", so all was well. They have a new CD coming out, which I'm going to have to buy sometime, because I liked the songs they played from it.

Got back to Ashley's at about 1 a.m. and fell asleep about two minutes after I got into bed. Then we got to head out at 8 a.m. to get back here. Ah well. I'll catch up on rest next weekend. Or just fall asleep behind the counter at work. As slow as it's been lately, people probably won't notice. . .

And speaking of fun things, here is an icon to celebrate one of my favorite LOST moments ever. ;-)

LOST

Sayid = awesome, yet again; still don't know what the heck happened to Locke, but that's okay because Nadia was back! *G*

Figure out a way to get a manuscript onto LOST.

From lost-media.com:

"It was a shot that lasted just a second, but the appearance of Irish novel "The Third Policeman" on cult television series "Lost" has thrust one of Ireland's less celebrated authors into the limelight.
The surreal comic novel by Flann O'Brien, an early 20th century author heavily influenced by fellow countryman James Joyce, appeared briefly in an episode of "Lost" screened in Ireland on Monday.

It was first aired in the United States in October. After that outing, 10,000 copies of the book -- unpublished during the author's lifetime -- flew off bookshop shelves in just two days."

Okay, I've seen the Sawyer Song 92 times but I have no idea how I managed to miss this one so far...

Lost Rhapsody

Set to the tune of Weird Al's "Bohemian Polka". We have a Mechasaur joke, flashback dancing, and there's an It/The Dark Tower reference in there (which, I seriously shrieked when I saw that. I'm a dork).

You ever had a dream that stayed on your mind all day, and not for good reasons? I mean, if I'm going to have a memorable dream, I'd rather dream that I'm engaging in recreational activities on LOST island. But no.

I dreamt I was standing on this dark green metal bridge in London. I don't know why I'm sure it's London, since I've never been there (maybe my mind was just making an easy joke based on the fact that it was chilly and raining). In the dream everything was going wrong; all the people I cared about were dead or had abandoned me and I'd finally just decided, 'hell with it'.

Someone was trying to talk me down, but I have no idea who. All I know was that I didn't listen for a long time, and then I started to turn back toward whoever was talking to me and my foot slipped and I woke up.

It makes no sense. As I said, never been to London. And I'm scared of heights; if I was going to kill myself no way I'd do it by jumping off a bridge. Talk about adding insult to injury.

But I've still had to deal with this all day--

Logic: It didn't mean anything; just forget it.
Superstition: What if it was trying to warn you somehow?
Logic: Do not be ridiculous.
Superstition: Maybe it was predicting your death.
Logic: Would you shut up?

Tomorrow I'll probably laugh about all this-- provided I don't have another freaky dream-- but right now, just . . . yeah.

I need to actually write something, instead of typing out a few notes and then staring at the computer screen in a state of utter uselessness. But, doesn't look like that's going to happen tonight either.

I'm just going to find something cheerful to read, blame Monday, and be done with it.

I stayed home from work today, because when I woke up I felt like my head was going to explode and my lungs were trying to escape my body every time I coughed. Yay cold season.

Anyway, after being an utter slug for most of the day, I feel better-- cough is still there, but at least the annoying invisible man with the sledgehammer has stopped whacking my head.

On the good side, LOST last night was pretty cool . . . yay for Claire and Sayid and Hurley and Sawyer and Eko, all of whom I love; I'm still not sure where I stand with Locke; and Charlie needs to be bapped with an 'everything is not all about you' stick. Or a 'maybe if you stop lying people will be more inclined to trust you' stick. Or both.

And the other day my parents were watching The Day After Tomorrow, and they got to the point where the girl was snuggling up with Jake Gyllenhaal 'to share body heat', and dad said he had an MST3K moment and immediately thought of Jake's character saying, "Well, that's fine, but I'd like this more if you were Heath Ledger." ;-)

Okay, this has to win some kind of "Weirdest Fanfiction" award. Premise being that a previously human guy eats a berry that unexpectedly turns him into a glitter-plagued fairy. Who is this guy?

Sawyer, from Lost.

Enjoy. ;-)

Due to advice from more than one cool person, I've added the first season of Veronica Mars to my amazon.com cart and wish list. ((thus bringing the total cost of my entire list to about 8 million dollars...))

First LOST, then American Chopper, then Rescue Me and Firefly and now probably this . . . for someone who avoided most all TV shows save Quantum Leap for years, I'm sure getting into them now. I blame DVDs. ;-)

I have found the best thing ever. :-)

Someone made a Lost music video set to music from Rent.

Yay for the combination of fandoms.

I. Hate. Ana. Lucia. So. Damn. Much.

Bad news: The local channel that was rebroadcasting ABC was ordered to stop rebroadcasting it. Stupid freaking FCC. So, if I try to watch LOST, the only thing I get is a 'sorry, but...' message. Rar.

Fortunately, it will be taped for me and I can watch it later this week. I'll just avoid most of my friends list in the meantime. lol And I also have to avoid the during-episode discussion on cleolinda's journal. Woe.

Good news: Just ordered a character portrait from Warsheep Productions. Yayness. :-)

Went to go see The Fog last night-- immediately afterwards, I turned to Chris and said, "Now I feel like watching the original." He did, too, so we stopped by my parents' house and picked up the DVD.

I hadn't seen the original in a while, so it was fun to sit there and say, "Oh, that's where they got that" or "yeah, they changed that *quite* a bit..."

Also, it amused me that Jamie Lee Curtis was the real-life daughter of the councilwoman character, and in the sequel the actresses weren't related (that I know of), but their characters were mother-daughter. :-)

It was neat to see Maggie Grace playing a character other than Shannon-- other than this, Lost is the only thing I've seen her in. Have also seen a few episodes of Smallville recently, so I recognized Tom Welling. Of the cast, Selma Blair was the one I've seen the most of, and she's always cool. Another person I need to cybercast sometime soon.

But what *really* made me happy was that they played an ad for Rent. I just about shrieked, and tapped Chris's arm quickly the instant I recognized the music, and a minute later he goes, "Ohhhh." lol ((I've basically memorized the soundtrack; he's heard it a couple of times))

At the end of the ad, he said, "Well, it looks like it's got pole dancing in it, so yeah, we can go see it." Me-- *SWAT*

After watching LOST last night, I realized something...

I've heard various theories about what's really going on on that island, and one of the suggestions is that all of the characters have a twin somewhere (evil or not has apparently not been decided ;-)) on the island.

I have decided that I want this theory to be true. Solely because the thought of two Sayids and two Sawyers makes me a happy, happy girl.

Okay, so I'm proving the fact that I have a one-track mind again. Ah well. :-)

How to Know You're a LOST Addict, Sign #815. . .

You get one of those Crossword lottery tickets, one of the words on it is 'hatch', and you giggle.

Oh, man. One of the people at Lost Video Island made a joke video of Sawyer and Kate to Aqua's "Tarzan and Jane", and it's absolutely bizarre.

Go see.

A link to a couple of screenshot captures from the making of the UK promo for Lost---

I want to dance...

The people in the community are checking out Sawyer and Sun (not a big surprise, considering the community's name). ;-) I, meanwhile, am checking out Sayid and Shannon and wishing I was Maggie Grace. Again. I spend way too much time doing that while watching Lost. Ah well.

Speaking of, is it time for new episodes yet?? Seriously. Withdrawal symptoms over here. Not good.

Just posting real quick to say that there are still a few Queen (or King) for a day spots open at the Lost party. You choose the topic, and people post pictures/fanfic, whatever.

And now, I'm off to get some writing work done. Really. Seriously this time. I'm not going to make any more character-dolls.

Honest??
