Sep. 10th, 2005 08:21 pmYou know what I just found out? The movie Julian Po is now available on DVD. Happy me.
I saw that movie as soon as it came out on rental (of course no theater around here was going to get it), and we actually had to go to the next town in order to rent it, because 1) no video store here got it, 2) this was before we had an amazon.com account, 3) I was sixteen and neither rain nor snow nor a half-hour drive were going to keep me from a Christian Slater fix. ;-) Fortunately I have indulgent and easily amused parents.
So I brought it home, and watched it . . . four times. *s* The movie's a dark comedy about a man whose car breaks down while he's on the way to the ocean. Once he gets there, he's planning to kill himself. When the people in the small town he's temporarily stranded in find out about this, he becomes a local celebrity, and a whole bunch of weird things happen. Considering everything that happens in it (no spoilers here) I really shouldn't like it as much as I do, but-- yeah. Also the movie that made me a fan of Robin Tunney. (when I wasn't thinking, "What's with the casting directors never psychically picking up on my existence and calling me? She looks sixteen in half of this, I am sixteen . . . it could've worked!)
Anyway. Buying it. Yeah. :-)
