Well, since it's the 20th and I'm just getting around to resolutions now, I think I'll ignore the whole 'procrastinate less' one this time around. ;-)

Maggie Stiefvater had a great entry about having specific resolutions and also having resolutions that depend on you, not on other people (more along the lines of 'I will finish writing this book' than 'I will get published'). Entry is here.

With these things in mind:

Writing Resolutions--

1) Get a first draft of Redemption done.

2) Get a first draft of Pale Moon done.

3) Publish either Karavan's Dawn, Eight Ruby Slippers for Charlotte, or Rachel's Village through Lulu.

Other Resolutions:

1) Get out of the house and do something with the kids at least once a week. Library hour, church, MOPS, something. ((this is largely a winter resolution; it's an easy one in the spring/summer when we can head to the park))

2) Keep the TV news off. If there's something truly important going on, I'll keep track of it through the internet.

3) On a related note, don't react to switching the TV off by trying to keep track of everything online. Made that mistake once, and boy did it not help with my depression. The first wakeup call (and it should've been the last but hey, I'm stubborn) came when I opened a site I used to visit and saw the title for one of the posts was "Why the World Sucks". Reading stuff like that early in the morning wasn't doing anything good.
I've already started on this one and I'm surprised how much of a difference it's made so far. Now that I'm not focusing on horrific stuff most every day, it gives me time to actually work on how to help instead of feeling overwhelmed that the problems are so big.

Six resolutions; I think I can do that. We'll find out within the year.
