I need to have a talk with my husband when he gets home. I was getting ready to take a shower, and I turned on the water to do the usual temperature-fiddlings . . . found out the hard way that the little button that switches from 'shower' to 'faucet' never got pushed. If I'd wanted a cold shower, I would've taken one intentionally, thankyouverymuch. Brrrrrrrrr.

In other news, Michael Savage is a dipshit. Pardon my French, but there's really no nicer way to phrase that. Though I can think of several that are less nice. I could've gone with 'dipshit dumbass dirtbag', but that would've been a waste of perfectly good alliteration.

And in better news, I got several notes written during the slow times at work today, so I think I might go ahead and start a new novel this afternoon. Or at least revise some character profiles. We'll see. :-)

Dipshit is awfully kind. And what's frustrating is that he has a valid point in the middle of all his idiocy, so now that valid point is going to seem like just the blathering of an idiot that people will discount because it came out of his mouth. Gah.

Well, what I saw was "blah blah all Muslims are exactly the same and should die blah we should subject rape victims to even worse than they already get blah feminists are evil blah I'm an asshole blee."

So I guess if there was any kind of valid point, your comment is proven in my case-- I sure didn't see it. lol

Yep, see? He made a comment (and of course it was rude and crassly put) that said that it was unfair that the rape victim was able to maintain her anonymity, but even before they are proven guilty, the accused are put on display to the whole world.

Now I most definitely think that rape victims need to be able to keep their anonymity, but I agree it's unfair that the accused are put on display with no proof that they actually committed the crime. The Duke rape case is one of those that bothers the stew out of me. The case seems to be showing more and more evidence that she lied, and yet she is the only person being protected. All the boys in the situation are on display and will have this follow them for the rest of their lives, even if they didn't do anything wrong.

The whole situation is just giving legitimate rape victims all the more reason to want to stay silent (which is the last thing they should do) because cases like this make people very suspicious when a girl cries rape. The whole thing should have been kept away from the media until things were sorted out.

Yeah, "everybody should remain anonymous in cases like this until the legal process is through" is a good point, and I'd be fine with that.

But his quote of, "What kind of system do we have that anyone can scream rape and not have to show her face?" doesn't sound like, 'everyone should remain anonymous' so much as, 'how dare women be able to accuse men of something like this and not have their faces plastered everywhere so it'll be easier for the accused's friends to harass them?' I'd probably be willing to take a more charitable view of his opinion if he hadn't actually used the words "out-of-control lesbian feminist movement". ::eyeroll::

So basically, by the time the article got to that point, I was in no mood to even try to translate anything he said from Jackass to English. ;-)
